Daytime Postpartum Doula Care

As a Postpartum Doula I will help you find your new normal with your baby at your side.

While your needs may change from day to day, the forever tenants of Postpartum Daytime Care are rest and recovery, while I provide physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for you and your baby.

You will have a unique postpartum experience, and it's a once in a lifetime experience for you and your baby.

Your postpartum experience will be as unique as you are.

Whether this is your first or fifth baby, long or short labor, born at home or hospital, cesarean or vaginal birth, your postpartum will be shaped by your experience. All are a part of your unique recovery and may even affect your relationship to your baby.

This initial parenting experience is so profound and dynamic, is it often labeled the “Fourth Trimester.” While the last few weeks of waiting, waiting, waiting for your baby drags into forever, in retrospect, the first few weeks and months of your baby’s life will evaporate into the past.

My hope is to provide you an opportunity to get to know your baby and fall deeply in love while appreciating this once in your lifetime experience with this baby.

With 30+ years as a postpartum doula, I'm here to lighten the load for you as a brand new mama.

When I come to your home I'll ask "What’s the priority right now? A nap, a meal, a shower, or a conversation about your emotional status or maybe you have questions about your baby? I listen and look and prioritize your needs. Best of all? I see your strengths when you may not!

overnight postpartum doula (2)

Understanding my role as your postpartum doula:

Today most women don’t have the gift of community. Family members often reside far away. Women are urged to return to the workforce in 6 to 12 weeks. Its not difficult to understand the increasing rise in mental health issues. There is little honor for the physical feat of bringing a life into the world.

This is where the work of a Postpartum Doula shines. A Doula appreciates and honors pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She can’t begin to do it all but she does her best to nourish Mama with mentoring, naps and nutrition. Before you explore any further about services, it would be important to understand the Scope of Doula Work. Also note, each Doula usually has an area of special interest, and every Doula offers slightly different services, Here are mine:

  • Mama Mentoring
  • Baby Care (bathing, diapering, swaddling, soothing)
  • Establish appropriate routines and Infant sleep education.
  • Infant feeding: breast/formula education and know how.
  • Infant massage (I can teach you!)
  • Snack and meal preparation, and light kitchen maintenance
  • Mama and baby laundry
  • Shopping and errands
  • Accompaniment to appointments.
  • Mental Health support and community resources.

*Doulas in general do not provide childcare, medical advice, or transportation.
